Product Scout form with idea, product type, audience, price, and cost.
What to enter
The only required field is the idea: What are you thinking about selling? Optional fields help the score and the write-up:
- Product type — shirt, mug, poster, sweatshirt, digital download.
- Audience — who would buy it (dog moms, bookkeepers, teachers).
- Selling price and estimated cost — used in the profit part of the score when you provide them.
- Country/Market — a short code such as US if you have a primary market in mind.
- Evergreen vs Seasonal — year-round or tied to a season.
- POD / Physical / Digital — how you expect to fulfill.
Good research queries
Be specific enough that a buyer could imagine the listing, but not so long that it is a full title.
- Good: “funny Chihuahua shirt”
- Better: “funny Chihuahua shirt for Mexican moms”
- Too broad: “t-shirt” or “pets”
- Too narrow to start: a 20-word joke that only one friend would get
If you only know the object, add the person. “Mug” is weak. “Bookkeeper coffee mug” is researchable.
How to interpret results
After Research you see:
- Overall Opportunity Score (0–100) and a plain-language label such as Promising or Highly Competitive.
- Confidence: High, Medium, or Low, plus a number.
- Meters for search interest, trend, niche specificity, purchase intent, competition, profit, flexibility, and gift potential. A dash means there was not enough information for that part.
- A short “Why this score?” note.
- Suggested title, audience, keywords, design directions, related niches, and product opportunities.
If you see a note that the reading uses concept language, the result is based on the idea itself, not on marketplace sales data.
When other Mascori users have searched, saved, or created from a similar idea, you may also see anonymous Mascori interest counts. Those are not marketplace sales.
How to refine an idea
If the score feels generic, add the audience or product type and research again. Tap a related niche to run Scout on a tighter phrase. Then send a stronger variation into Compare Ideas instead of creating immediately.
Under the score you can Save, Create Product, Compare, or jump to Keyword Explorer, Trend Radar, and Profit Check with the same idea.
